Digital art uses computers, tablets and phones as creative tools. This includes digital painting, photo editing, graphic design, animation and digital photography. Digital tools allow experimentation without wasting materials — you can undo, layer and edit endlessly.

Digital art requires the same artistic principles as traditional art — composition, colour, balance, contrast. The medium (tool) is different but the skills are the same. Many SA artists combine digital and traditional techniques. Digital skills are in high demand in the job market.
