Write narrative and descriptive essays

Narrative and Descriptive Essays

In Grade 7, you write narrative essays (telling a story) and descriptive essays (painting a picture with words). Both require planning, interesting vocabulary, literary devices, and well-structured paragraphs. Your essay should have an introduction, body, and conclusion.
Example

Narrative Essay Opening

Weak opening: 'One day I went to the beach.' Strong opening: 'The salty air stung my face as I stepped onto the warm sand. I had no idea that this ordinary Saturday was about to become the most unforgettable day of my life.' A strong opening hooks the reader immediately.
