Drama: Improvisation

Create scenes without a script

Creating Scenes Without a Script

Improvisation means making up drama on the spot without a script. Actors respond to each other spontaneously, creating characters and stories in the moment. The key rule is 'Yes, and...' — accept what your partner offers and add to it. Improv builds confidence and creativity.
Example

Improvisation Games

Game 1 - 'Yes, and...': Partner says something, you agree and add more. 'There's a lion in the classroom!' → 'Yes, and it looks hungry!' Game 2 - Freeze: Two actors perform a scene. Someone shouts 'Freeze!' Takes one actor's position and starts a completely different scene. Game 3 - One Word Story: Each person adds one word to build a story together.
Note

Remember

In improvisation: never say 'no' to block a scene — always accept and build. Listen carefully to your partners. Be brave — there are no mistakes in improv, only offers! This is great practice for quick thinking, teamwork and creative expression.
