Basic First Aid
First aid is the immediate help given to a person who is hurt or suddenly becomes ill, before medical help arrives. Knowing basic first aid can save lives. Always stay calm and call for adult help in an emergency.

Common First Aid Steps
For a small cut: wash with clean water, apply pressure with a clean cloth to stop bleeding, and cover with a plaster. For a burn: hold under cool running water for at least 10 minutes. For a nosebleed: sit up straight, lean forward, and pinch the soft part of the nose.
