Report Writing

Write simple factual reports

What is a Report?

A report gives facts and information about a topic. It is not a story — it is true and factual. Reports have a heading (title), an introduction, the main facts, and a conclusion. 📝
Example

A Report About Lions 🦁

Heading: Lions Introduction: Lions are large wild cats that live in Africa. Facts: • Lions live in groups called prides. • They eat meat (they are carnivores). • Male lions have manes. • Lions sleep for about 20 hours a day! Conclusion: Lions are amazing animals that need to be protected.
Note

Tips

A report answers questions: What is it? Where is it found? What does it look like? What does it do? Use facts, not opinions. Write in full sentences. Use a heading and sub-headings to organise your report. 📊
