What is a Half?
A half is one of two equal parts. When we cut something into two pieces that are exactly the same size, each piece is one half. We write a half as ½.

🍕 Cut a pizza into 2 equal slices — each slice is a half!
🍎 Cut an apple into 2 equal pieces — each piece is a half!
🧁 Share a cupcake equally with a friend — you each get half!

A shape split into 2 EQUAL parts: ✅ Yes, each part is a half!
A shape split into 2 UNEQUAL parts: ❌ No! The parts must be the same size to be halves.

Remember
Half means TWO EQUAL parts. Both parts must be exactly the same size. Two halves put together make one whole. We write half as ½ or say 'one out of two parts'.
