3D Objects

Identify balls, boxes and cylinders in the environment

What are 3D Objects?

3D objects are solid shapes that you can hold and touch. They are not flat — they have height, width, and depth. Balls, boxes, and cans are all 3D objects we see every day.
Example

Common 3D Objects

⚽ Sphere — shaped like a ball, round all over. 📦 Rectangular prism — shaped like a box, has flat faces. 🥫 Cylinder — shaped like a can, round on top and bottom. 🔺 Cone — pointy on top, round at the bottom (like an ice cream cone 🍦). 🎲 Cube — like a box but all sides are the same size.

Faces, Edges, and Corners

3D objects have faces (flat parts), edges (where two faces meet), and corners (where edges meet). A cube has 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 corners. A sphere has 0 faces, 0 edges, and 0 corners!
Note

Remember

3D objects are everywhere! Look around: a ball is a sphere, a book is a rectangular prism, a party hat is a cone, a cold drink can is a cylinder. Can you spot them?
