Shared Reading

Read big books together and discuss the story

Reading Together 📖

Shared reading is when we read a big book together with the teacher. The teacher shows us the pictures and the words. We follow along and join in!
Example

How We Read a Big Book

1️⃣ Look at the cover — what do you think the story is about? 2️⃣ The teacher reads and points to each word 3️⃣ We join in when we know the words 4️⃣ We talk about what happened in the story 5️⃣ We act out our favourite parts! 🎭
Note

Remember

Books are read from left ➡️ to right. We start at the top of the page and go down. The title is the name of the book. The author is the person who wrote it. ✍️
