Exam Strategies

Effective exam preparation involves planning, practising, and managing your time wisely. Start studying early — cramming the night before rarely works. Practise with past papers to familiarise yourself with question formats.
Example

During the Exam

Read through the whole paper first and plan your time. Answer questions you know best first. Pay attention to mark allocation — a 4-mark question needs more detail than a 1-mark question. Show all working in Maths. Leave time to check your work.
Note

Remember

Get enough sleep before exams — your brain consolidates memories during sleep. Eat a good breakfast. Stay calm and breathe deeply if you feel anxious.

Key Vocabulary

Mark allocationThe number of marks assigned to each question
