Coping with Stress

Understanding and Managing Stress

Stress is your body's response to pressure or demands. Some stress is normal and can motivate you, but too much stress affects your health, sleep, and concentration. Common stressors for teens include exams, peer pressure, family problems, and social media.
Example

Coping Strategies

Physical: exercise, deep breathing, getting enough sleep. Emotional: talk to a trusted friend or adult, write in a journal, listen to music. Practical: break big tasks into smaller steps, make a study timetable, ask for help when needed.
Note

Remember

If stress becomes overwhelming, speak to a school counsellor, teacher, or call Childline on 0800 055 555. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
