Puberty & Changes

Understand physical and emotional changes during puberty

Understanding Puberty

Puberty is the time when your body changes from a child's body to an adult's body. It usually starts between ages 9 and 14. Hormones cause physical changes like growing taller, developing body hair, and changes in body shape.
Example

Changes During Puberty

Physical changes: growth spurts, skin may become oily (pimples), body odour increases, voice deepens (especially in boys). Emotional changes: mood swings, new feelings about friends and peers, wanting more independence. These changes are completely normal.
Note

Remember

Everyone goes through puberty at their own pace. Take extra care with hygiene — use deodorant and bath daily. Talk to a trusted adult if you feel confused or worried about the changes.
