Bullying Prevention

Identify bullying and learn prevention strategies

Understanding Bullying

Bullying is when someone hurts, threatens, or teases another person repeatedly on purpose. It can be physical (hitting, pushing), verbal (name-calling, insults), or social (excluding someone, spreading rumours). Cyberbullying happens online through phones or computers.
Example

What to Do About Bullying

If you are bullied: tell a trusted adult like a teacher or parent. Walk away and stay with friends. Do not fight back — it can make things worse. If you see someone being bullied: speak up or report it.
Note

Remember

Bullying is never the victim's fault. Everyone deserves to feel safe. Schools in South Africa have anti-bullying policies — make sure you know your school's rules.
