Reading Fluency

Read aloud with accuracy and expression

What is Reading Fluency?

Fluency means reading smoothly, at a good speed, and with expression. When we read fluently, it sounds like talking! We don't read word-by-word — we read in groups of words. 📖✨
Example

Fluent vs. Not Fluent

Not fluent: 'The... boy... went... to... the... shop.' Fluent: 'The boy went to the shop.' See the difference? Fluent reading is smooth and sounds natural! 🗣️
Note

How to Improve

Read the same book again and again — each time gets easier! Read along with an adult. Don't rush, but don't stop after every word. Practise every day! 📚⭐
