Community helpers are people who do special jobs to keep us safe, healthy, and happy. Police officers protect us. Nurses and doctors help us when we are sick. Firefighters put out fires. Teachers help us learn.

At the clinic, a nurse checks if you are healthy. At school, your teacher helps you read and write. If there is a fire, call the fire brigade. If someone is in danger, the police can help — phone 10111 in South Africa.
