Understand percentages and convert between fractions, decimals and percentages
Understanding Percentages
Percent means 'per hundred'. 50% means 50 out of 100. Percentages, fractions and decimals are all related: 50% = 1/2 = 0.5. Percentages help us compare parts of different wholes.
Example
Converting Between Forms
Fraction → Percentage: 3/4 = 75% (divide 3÷4 = 0.75, then ×100)
Decimal → Percentage: 0.6 = 60% (multiply by 100)
Percentage → Fraction: 25% = 25/100 = 1/4
Percentage → Decimal: 30% = 0.30 = 0.3
Example

Find 20% of R150:

150 ÷ 5 = R30
