Oral Presentation

Prepare and deliver formal oral presentations

Formal Oral Presentations

In Grade 6, oral presentations become more formal. You need to research a topic, plan your speech, use visual aids (like posters or slides), and present confidently to the class. A good presentation is well-organised with an introduction, body, and conclusion.
Example

Planning a Presentation

Topic: 'Saving water in South Africa' Introduction: Greet the audience, state your topic. Body: • Point 1: Why water is scarce in SA • Point 2: Ways to save water at home • Point 3: What schools can do Conclusion: Summarise your points and end with a strong statement. Visual aid: A poster showing water-saving tips.
Note

Presentation Skills

Speak clearly and at a good pace. Make eye contact with your audience. Use cue cards — don't read everything. Stand up straight and use hand gestures naturally. Practise at home in front of a mirror or family member.
