Marketing is everything a business does to attract and keep customers. It includes advertising, choosing the right price, packaging products attractively and distributing them where customers can buy them. Good marketing matches products to the people who need them.

Product: What are you selling? Is it good quality?
Price: How much does it cost? Is it fair? Can customers afford it?
Place: Where can people buy it? Shops? Online? Markets?
Promotion: How do people know about it? Ads, social media, signs?
Example: Spaza shop selling cold drinks on a hot day at a sports field = good marketing!

Marketing is not just advertising — it's understanding what customers want and providing it. Good marketers listen to customers. Be aware that advertising tries to make you WANT things — think critically before spending money on advertised products.
