Making good choices with money
Making Good Money Choices
We all have limited money, so we must choose carefully how to spend it. Saving means keeping some money for later instead of spending it all now. Good money habits include: paying for needs first, comparing prices, avoiding waste and saving regularly.

Saving Strategies
Ways to save money:
• Put coins in a jar every day (even R1 adds up!)
• Wait before buying wants — do you still want it a week later?
• Compare prices at different shops
• Take care of things so you don't need to replace them
• Pack lunch instead of buying every day
R5 per day × 30 days = R150 per month saved!
Note
Remember
Saving is paying yourself first — before you spend on wants, put some money away. Even small amounts grow over time. In South Africa, many families struggle financially, so every rand counts. Smart spending and saving build financial security.
