Entrepreneurship

What it means to start a business

Starting a Business

An entrepreneur is someone who sees a need in the community and starts a business to fill it. They take a risk — using their time and money — hoping to make a profit. South Africa needs entrepreneurs to create jobs and grow the economy.

Remember

Not every business succeeds, but every entrepreneur learns from trying. Good entrepreneurs solve problems, work hard, learn from mistakes and never give up. Many successful SA businesses started very small — from a table on the street to a national brand.
