Self-Knowledge and Wellness
Self-knowledge means understanding your personality, values, strengths, and areas for growth. Wellness encompasses physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual health. As you prepare to leave school, self-knowledge helps you make decisions that align with who you truly are.
Example
Assessing Your Wellness
Physical: Am I eating well, exercising, sleeping enough? Emotional: Can I manage stress and express feelings constructively? Social: Do I have supportive relationships? Intellectual: Am I curious and committed to learning? Rate each area and identify where you need improvement.
Note
Remember
Wellness is holistic — neglecting one area affects the others. Make self-care a priority, especially during matric. Seek professional help for persistent anxiety, depression, or emotional difficulties.
Key Vocabulary
Self-knowledgeA deep understanding of your own character, values, and motivations
WellnessA state of overall health — physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual
